Pieced Quilt Diamonds

In this video, Cindy Hathaway from Fons & Porter will show how to easily make pieced quilt diamonds. For this diamond, she will use 3 strip sets with different colors. She starts out showing the process of cutting the fabric strips at an angle and piecing them together to form the diamond.

  2. I am a beginner in the quilting world. I am trying to make the 8-pointed fancy star quilt block but using only two strips instead of three.

  3. Oh! How I wish I had viewed this video earlier. I am a new quilter and I did not know to off-set the fabrics to minimize the spoilage when I made Anna-Maria Horner’s Feathers pattern (Quilty magazine – Winter 2012 edition). Too bad the procedures did not specify this precious step! Although I had figured it out on my own, you saved me some trials and errors to determine by how much to offset the fabrics. Now I know! Thank you very much.

  4. Great lesson. I had to assume only one thing: the 1.75 inch that you cut of the strip set was the same width as the original strips. I’ll try that now. Thanks.
