For this example, the quilter used the diamond fabric pieces with the diamond ruler and used it as a Fussy-Cut template (we are going to use this also to cut our strips).
The fabric company was very accommodating because the motifs allow you to work with the lines on the ruler to try and get the little dot in the same place on both corners so you know that the fabric is centered.
And one really great method is to use a dry erase marker, (obviously a dry erase is important and not a permanent marker). You don’t want to ruin your ruler. If you want, you can just sketch out the lines on your template of what your fussy-cutting if its an image.
