This video discusses a unique way of making a quilt by tilting the quilt blocks which is made with some simple cutting and flying geese borders. They begin by show a few different examples with the tilted quilt blocks.
Cindy’s quilt example shows a very dramatic large scale print for the big pieces of patchwork in the block. But she kind of calmed it all down with some coordinating fabrics that read almost like solids, so you will see the block and you see the flying geese a lot more in Cindy’s quilt which is kind of a crisp look. In contrast, Pam’s example is pretty much like an impressionist quilt.
But either way you’d like to make them, they show a cool tipped quilt block method and some fussy cutting that’s really a lot of fun to do. Just to give you an idea of how the pattern works, they laid out the progression to help demystify the pattern so you see how accessible it is. Because when you look at it, it looks a lot more complex and you can be working with really skinny corners but you’re actually not- it’s really simple.
