Make a Sewing Basket: AKA the Quilter’s Caddy

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting | 1700 Series | Episode 1712

For this 1700 series of Love of Quilting, our special guest is sewing specialist and educator Linda Rainwater.  Today’s project is a little sewing basket caddy that, I think every quilter needs to have.

This quilting caddy will keep all the supplies for whatever project you’re working on- in close to your hands so you don’t lose them. It’s really neat, and the fact that we got the supplies from the hardware store is just kind of amazing.

In the first part of this video, we start making the sewing basket using mesh screen. By taking screening which you can find in the section of the hardware store where you might find replacement screening.

  1. LOVE LOVELOVE THIS BASKET! I AM MAKING TWO OF THEM FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN AND FILLING THEM WITH CRAYONS, MARKERS, SCISSORS ETC. FOR CRAFTS. THIS WILL BE THEIR EASTER GIFTS AND MUCH BETTER FOR THEIR TEETH!
